11 20 09 | David Beckham -- Unbrace Yourself

No longer sporting the protective boot he's been rocking as of late, David Beckham took his various sons for frozen yogurt at a Pinkberry in Brentwood yesterday ... without injuring himself.

11 18 09 | Pinkberry with Pomegranate Juice

This time i was craving for it...Pinkberry is very addictive and im not just saying that for the heck of it...really i dont lie about food...its really refreshing and too yummylicious!!

It was a weekday and around 10:10 pm and yes there was a line :) and i thought it was just the weekend that they have big lines....

This time we had a new topping..OREO's :D and to top it all we had Pomegranate syrup which looked really nice...

I saw them put syrup for a couple of people so i asked them to top it with syrup..didnt really know it was Pomegranate syrup :) we didnt get much of taste out of the syrup coz we had a mix swirl so it would go very well with just the original...I took a fruit parfait for my sister...it looks and tastes real good :)

11 17 09 | Cow Town Munchies

The yogurt craze is stretching far and fast in the DFW metroplex and it sure has gotten to our blogging colleague Mooky, (in absentia but still eating, so I write for her). Pinkberry is just one of the latest shops to open in Dallas and it had quite the grand opening: Security, pink carpet, and other Yogurt heads flocking to try the newest thing.

Yogurt is anything new, but the way shops offer them is always a treat to try. At the grand opening of Pinkberry on Preston and Royal, it all seemed very "high-end" and "sophiscated". With the pink carpet stretchingfrom the entry way, to the long lines of Yogurt heads, to the security guards and managers standing outside, Pinkberry appeared to offer a delectable if not fashionable treat. The furnishings screamed out of the catalogs of Design Within Reach. The walls splashed with fruity kiwi, brigh orange, and Pinkberry's signature pink. Modern lines mixed with natural sweets. Hmmmmm.

They want to offer service that other places do not: meaning no self-service. Prices varied by cup size rather than the ounce. Cups of plain yogurt were expensive enough and you definitely pay for the yogurt. Servers are standing behind the glass, much like you would see at Subway or Quiznos, waiting for your picks. The cups are filled with original, pomegrante, passionfruit, coconut or green tea yogurt of your choosing. Then the toppings are placed along the sides of the cup (if there is room) with the usual pickings: berries, fresh cut fruits, chocolate chips, nuts and granola.

At the grand opening, all the small cups were free. That was very nice. Other than that, I am quite used to serving myself when it comes to yogurt shops. With the lavishness of the design and the ridiculousness of a grand opening, Pinkberry is just okay.

Sweet treats and good eats.
-Kirby

In the latest bout of froyo news, on November 27 Pinkberry will 86 its summer passionfruit flavor and replace it with an oldie but goodie, chocolate.

11 16 09 | Trunks or Treats? Louis Vuitton & Pinkberry Open in Dallas on Same Night

Trunks or Treats??? Louis Vuitton & Pinkberry Grand Openings hit Dallas Scene on the same night. Sometimes you have to make choices in life and sometimes those choices can be hard. For example, on Thursday night both Louis Vuitton and Pinkberry brought the goods to Dallas at their official grand opening parties. Choices had to be made….do you go to Louis Vuitton? Do you go to Pinkberry VIP party? Do you break up your evening- like me- be crazy and honor obligations to attend both events? Staying home was not an option.

I arrived at the Louis Vuitton event uncharacteristically early and got a little distracted shopping for Christmas gifts at Henri Bendel (awesome store…you’ll hear more about it from me later.) When I finally made it to the event thirty minutes in I had just a few minutes to mix, mingle and share my well-wishes before heading out to meet my other party at the Pinkberry event.

The crowds couldn’t have been more different. The Louis Vuitton party was host to all the regular fashion scene faces: Jan Strimple, Heidi Schultheis, LeeAnne Locken, John Rausch, Jackson…you get the picture. While the Pinkberry party played host to a lot of the Preston Hollow/Highland Park family types as well as- according to my single girl friends- a slew of single men. Ladies you missed your mark if you were man shopping at Louis Vuitton.

The crowd at Louis Vuitton wore their fashionable ensembles, downed champagne, white wine and sparkling water and declined the passed hors d’ouevres. On the other side of town the denim styled fro-yo fans enjoyed not only complimentary endless cups of the delicious Pinkberry but also toasted the night away with Veuve-Cliquot….a personal favorite of mine. The Pinkberry party planners smartly teamed up with their neighbors at Merge to convert the Merge shop into a temporary party space for the launch event. Who was spinning tunes at Pinkberry…none other than one of our favorite DJs Lucy Wrubel. Can’t imagine what Pinkberry had to turn over to keep her from jetting over to Louis Vuitton.

Though I was certainly enticed by the expanse of the collection at Louis Vuitton and undoubtedly loved the trunk collection…one of my favorites…. AI was humored to look on while tots danced on the stage and I felt terrible for the poor champagne waitress popped herself in the eye with a Veuve cork (she was okay) the upbeat atmosphere at Pinkberry was a fun diversion with it’s long table holding endless bowls of tasty toppings….in the end though I was whisked away to try the new Bailey’s Steak House; an wonderful dining experience that I look forward to having again. Oh and of course you want to know about the swag????
