My mom is currently deployed in Iraq. When she left we bought a G.I. Jane doll that looks like her, it's even a helicopter pilot like she is, and we take pictures of the doll doing things she'd do if she were home and send the photos to her.
When I went to visit some cousins this summer in LA I brought the doll. We went to Pinkberry, which my mom hasn't had a chance to try yet, so we took a picture of the doll enjoying some tasty frozen yogurt with me, and even got a sample cup so she could have one her own size!
